{After|Following} {using|utilizing} this {camera|digital camera} for a {few|couple of} weeks I am amending my rating and giving it {5|five} stars. This {camera|digital camera} is {truly|really} {incredible|extraordinary}. The intelligent {automatic|automated} is {amazing|incredible}—I only {move|transfer} it to manual for a {few|couple of} {special|unique} {situations|scenarios}. The only {real|actual} complaint is that I {occasionally|sometimes} inadvertently hit the {video|video clip} button. Otherwise it is {simply|merely} {amazing|incredible}.

It handles {difficult|challenging} {situations|scenarios} with grace. Sunset with sky and foreground {properly|correctly} {exposed|uncovered}. Delivery {room|space} newborn with no flash and {low|reduced} ambient lighting. Black and white is {fantastic|wonderful}. Couldn’t be happier.

This is a {great|fantastic} {camera|digital camera} for a {beginner|newbie}—{Point|Stage} and shoot. {Lots|Tons} of {control|manage} for advance photographers. I’m sorry to say I {don’t|don’t} lug {around|about} a {camera|digital camera} bag and tripod {anymore|any longer}. Just slip this in my purse.

I waited a {long|lengthy} time to upgrade from the {first|initial} {generation|era} Panasonic Lumix TZ1 ({complete|total} with dangling lens cover & 5MP) Glad I did. The {best|greatest} {improvements|enhancements} are the {quick|fast} {power|energy}-up and lack of a shutter delay for catching {fast|quick} {action|motion}. If you {leave|depart} it in the {completely|totally} {automatic|automated} mode it does an {impressive|remarkable} {job|task}—and if you {need|require} {control|manage} there’s {plenty|a lot} and then some. {Lots|Tons} of {programs|applications} plus aperture and shutter priority or {complete|total} {control|manage}.

Other notable {improvements|enhancements} are in the macro {end|finish} of {things|issues} {where|exactly where} capturing {very|extremely} {fine|good} {close|shut}-ups are {greatly|significantly} {improved|enhanced}—my TZ1 was {always|usually} focusing on the {background|track record} if I could get it to {focus|concentrate} at all. This does an {incredible|extraordinary} {job|task}! {Almost|Nearly} {too|as well} {much|a lot} detail (if that’s {possible|feasible}) {Every|Each and every} speck on the petal of a flower is {exposed|uncovered}. This {camera|digital camera} is {slightly|somewhat} {smaller|more compact} and has a {larger|bigger} {display|show} {screen|display}. Most of the {functions|capabilities} and dials are {similar|comparable} and I {find|discover} {easy|simple} to use but that {may|might} be {because|simply because} they are {familiar|acquainted}.

Flash is {improved|enhanced} {over|more than} the {first|initial} {generation|era}.

The zoom on the {original|authentic} was 10X. 12 even {better|much better}. I took {incredible|extraordinary} {photos|pictures} of bullfrogs 15 feet away. Unbelievable detail.

This {camera|digital camera} {isn’t|isn’t} {perfect|ideal} and no {camera|digital camera} will {ever|actually} be. It would be {nice|good} to have a {more|much more} {powerful|potent} flash and {nice|good} if you could shoot in {lower|decrease} light with {less|much less} noise {without|with out} flash and it would be {nice|good} if it had a 20X optical zoom and a {faster|quicker} lens but for what it is its an {incredible|extraordinary} piece of engineering. AND {don’t|don’t} {forget|neglect} the Leica lens which is just plain {beautiful|stunning}.

All cameras have limitations and this is no exception. {However|Nevertheless} it will get you a {great|fantastic} {photo|picture} most of the time. The {wide|broad} angle to {long|lengthy} telephoto {range|assortment} is why I {bought|purchased} my {first|initial} Lumix. This {flexibility|versatility} {makes|can make} for {great|fantastic} {travel|journey} {photos|pictures}. I did {side|aspect} by {side|aspect} comparisons of a Sony, Canon, Nikon and the {first|initial} Lumix in the {store|retailer} and then we printed them out on the spot. No comparison. No ghosting, {better|much better} {color|colour} correction, {better|much better} macro. And I like the ergonomics. I {always|usually} {place|location} the wrist band {over|more than} my wrist and {hold|maintain} onto the {camera|digital camera} with fingers and pad of thumb and it feels {secure|safe}. Some of the ultra {small|little} cameras are {almost|nearly} {too|as well} {small|little} for me. (Didn’t {compare|evaluate} to {current|present} {models|designs})

What is {truly|really} awful about this {camera|digital camera} is that the manual is on a disk and covers this {camera|digital camera} and its {2|two} predecessors {making|generating} it a bit (if Not {totally|completely} {confusing|complicated} at {times|occasions}). It also does not {come|arrive} with MAC {compatible|appropriate} editing {software|software program} which is {really|truly} not a {big|large} {deal|offer} for me. {One|1} {person|individual} asked if it is MAC OSX {10|ten}.{6|six}.{3|three} {compatible|appropriate} and it is. The only {problem|issue} I’ve encountered is in {using|utilizing} Aperture (a MAC {program|plan})it {doesn’t|doesn’t} want to import {directly|straight} into a {project|undertaking} that has other {images|pictures} from my other Lumix {camera|digital camera}. Make a new {project|undertaking} and {problem|issue} is solved but irritating. (Manual {software|software program} and downloading from card to MAC is {compatible|appropriate})
